Victorian Women's Poetry

This course will offer in-depth engagement with the subtle and powerful work of female poets of the Victorian Period. We will engage in formal analysis of their poetics, experiment writing in their style, and discuss their responses to debates about women's roles, sexuality, war, class, religion, empire and colonialism, the public sphere, and Aestheticism and Decadence.
