Writing Across the Curriculum, University Writing Center, and Composition Program to receive CCCC Writing Program Certificate of Excellence

"Early this November, Appalachian State University's writing programs, including Writing Across the Curriculum, the University Writing Center, and Composition, were selected to receive the CCCC Writing Program Certificate of Excellence. The Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC) is the world's largest professional organization for researching and teaching composition. This certificate is awarded to outstanding programs and is extremely competitive as there are many high-quality nominees. The CCCC Writing Program Certificate of Excellence Selection Committee explained that its decision to pick ASU's programs was based on its vertical writing model and evidence of substantial professional development. Georgia Rhoades, Beth Carroll, and Kim Gunter, directors of the writing programs, will be presented with a certificate at the awards session of the annual conference in St. Louis in March 2012."

Congratulations to Georgia, Beth, and Kim!
