This course is an intensive creative writing workshop designed to build upon the requisite craft elements of writing non-fiction. You will study and write personal essays as well as reported, journalistic-style pieces, to explore the tensions that emerge between individuals and the world around them. Of course, the most memorable non-fiction often mixes multiple styles into a form that nears, in certain ways, what we expect of literary fiction. We’ll discuss that idea – and more – during workshop sessions.
