The Department of English houses over 450 majors, employs 43 tenured and tenure-track faculty and approximately 50 non-tenure track faculty. The department offers a Bachelor of Science in Secondary English Education and a Bachelor of Arts with concentrations in Literary Studies, Film Studies, Creative Writing, as well as Technical and Professional Writing. The department also offers a Master of Arts in English with concentrations in Literary Studies, Rhetoric and Composition, and Teaching Literature and Writing. We are firmly committed to faculty governance, teaching excellence, active scholarship,and university and community service.
The department seeks candidates who bring attributes that complement the department, program, and college’s existing strengths. We are interested in faculty members who have cultivated skills to communicate with, teach, and support others who do and do not share aspects of their own identity.
