We Are Hiring an Assistant Professor of North American Indigenous Literatures

We have initiated a search for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in English with expertise in North American Indigenous Literatures.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in English or closely related field, including Indigenous Studies (PhD in hand)
  • A minimum of three years of teaching experience at the University level, which can include online instruction

Areas of Interest:

  • Demonstrated ability to teach and develop courses in North American Indigenous Literatures, including our existing Studies in American Indian Literature course
  • Demonstrable experience in pedagogies that support students of all backgrounds
  • Active research and interest in the field of North American Indigenous Literatures. We welcome a secondary area of expertise in Multiethnic American Literatures

While our past course offerings have emphasized the literatures of nations and peoples traditionally residing within the borders of the contemporary United States, we welcome applicants with expertise in Indigenous literatures of any and all periods, genres, or regions across North America.

This is a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track position. Teaching load is 3/3, provided faculty produce at least 2 peer-reviewed publications (or equivalent) every 3 years. Service expectations include advising students, participating in committee work, and other related service activities.
