Our friend George Ella Lyon, who served in fall semester as this year's Rachel Rivers-Coffey Distinguished Writer in Residence, has just been named Kentucky's Poet Laureate for 2015-2016!
This is terrific and well-deserved for George Ella, and it's a testiment to the quality of our creative writing program and the quality of writers brought to campus as our Rachel Rivers-Coffey professor each year. (We had another Kentucky Poet Laureate in Gurney Norman back in 2012.)
