This course taught by Dr. Eby will cover American Literature during the Gilded Age, where literary realism, regionalism and naturalism flourished with the goal of relating texts to the period of incredible new wealth and growing poverty. The class will explore how corruption, social failures, the closing frontier and emerging globalism affected the contemporary American mindset. Class will meet Mondays from 5pm to 7:30pm.
