Primary Field Trip: Mt Airy Fiddler's Convention, June 1,2,3,4 (3 credits)(in person)

Possible fieldtrip to Wayne Henderson's on Tuesday 5/16 or 6/6 (5-7 hrs) Pre-Mt Airy

Prep: 2 hour classes May 16. Acquire 2 hrs raw footage of trad music approved by prof (eg 4/4 Larry & Joe)

Final Project: 2 videos or PowerPoints (15-25 m) and research paper on trad musicians with interviews and their performing strengths, mentors, local and historical contexts, patterns of growth, contributions, and significance.
