British Gothic Literature

This Honors Seminar will focus on British Gothic novels and short stories that feature monsters, femmes fatales, creepy buildings, horror, violence, hysteria, paranoia, transgressive science, and mental illness. Among the classic texts we will read are Frankenstein, Carmilla, The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Dracula, The Beetle, and The Woman in Black. If you are easily frightened, this course may not be for you!
