ENG 3090: Introduction to Professional Writing

ENG 3090: Introduction to Professional Writing will be taught by Dr. Sarah Beth Hopton this Fall 2021 semester. It will meet Mondays and Wednesdays from 2 to 3:15 in the brand new Sanford Hall, room 215. This class will discuss the rhetorical foundations to write, edit and visualize the various documents required to organize, recruit, and successfully manage an intentional community, eco-village, or sustainable farming co-op.

"Students will complete a series of group and individual writing and design projects based on field research where we work directly with "clients", intentional communities in Western North Carolina. This course would be particularly interesting to and beneficial for non-writing majors in Sustainability, Sustainable Technology & the Built Environment, Philosophy, Political Science, and Interdisciplinary Studies. Professional Writing majors are required to take this course."
