Kennedy “Alex” Sloop (he/they) is a lecturer in writing, rhetorics, and technical communication. His areas of study are Appalachian literature, folklore, and oral history and Japanese literature. As the assistant director of Black and Global Roots Concerts, he has assisted Dr. Cece Conway in hosting traditional Appalachian musicians for concerts at Appalachian State. As a lecturer, Alex teaches RC 1000 and RC 2001. Alex’s diverse interests include bluegrass, haiku, fantasy, and leaving forgotten cups of coffee around his office.
